Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a Flower Bar?

A Flower Bar is a fun and interactive floral workshop where we bring everything you and your guests need to create your own custom arrangements. We will guide you step-by-step, using fresh floral premium ingredients, to recreate a design we’ve prepared earlier that day. We’ll also share fun facts about the flowers and greenery we’re working with and teach you how to care for your arrangement to extend its shelf life. This hands-on experience is designed to be fun, relaxing, and stress-free, allowing you to tap into your creativity while enjoying time with loved ones. It’s truly therapeutic!

One of our favorite parts of the Flower Bar is seeing each guest’s unique creation at the end—no two arrangements are ever the same, and that individuality is such a beautiful thing!

What is your A La Carte add-on station?

Our À La Carte add-on station is a fun way to personalize your Flower Bar experience. We bring extra stems of foliage and flowers to each event, available for purchase by the stem, so you can add a little extra flair to your design if desired. These stems are perfect for zhuzhing up your arrangement that extra notch or even creating a small wrap to take home for a special occasion or a second arrangement. This is not currently an offering for Birthday Parties, but if it is something you wish to add-on, please reach out to us!

What is the process of booking a Flower Bar?

When you’re ready to host a Flower Bar, start by deciding on the arrangement size and style you’d like. Be sure to take note of the minimum number of guests required for your selection. Then, head over to our Booking tab to check availability and fill out a booking request.

Once you’ve submitted your request, we will contact you via text within 24-48 hours to confirm the details. At that time, a $150 non-refundable deposit will be required within 24 hours to secure your reservation. Soon after, we will follow up to discuss the contract, upcoming payments, and any preferences you have regarding style, flowers, or colors.

Please note that the hostess is responsible for full payment of the Flower Bar.

What is the process of hosting a Flower Bar?

We will provide all the necessary tools, vases, and floral ingredients for the Flower Bar. We kindly request access to the event location up to one hour before the start of your event to set up our portion, as well as access to running water.

Our Flower Bar display is typically set up on a rolling cart, but if you have a more Instagram-worthy area in mind, we’re happy to accommodate that as well. We will also bring our À La Carte station and would appreciate a suitable space for this setup.

The hostess has the privilege of selecting and arranging any decor, themes, and food or beverage options she wishes to include apart from the Flower Bar portion of the event. For an 8-person Flower Bar, an 8-person dining table or an equivalent workspace is required. Additional workspace will be necessary for larger groups. We also ask for a light-colored table covering, as designing on lighter surfaces is much easier than on darker ones. Disposable table coverings work wonderfully, but any covering will suffice!

If needed, The Rosie Laine can supply up to three 8-foot folding tables with light table coverings for an additional fee of $15 + tax per table.

Do I need any prior experience with flowers or floral arranging?

Not at all! We love working with guests of all skill levels, from complete beginners to floral hobbyists. Whether you're new to flower arranging or have years of experience, our Flower Bar is designed to be a fun and supportive environment where you can learn and express your creativity!

What materials will be provided, and what should I bring?

We will provide all the materials needed for the Flower Bar portion of your event, including tools, vases, and floral ingredients. However, the hostess is responsible for arranging any decor, as well as selecting and providing food and beverage options for the event.

How long does the Flower Bar last?

Our Flower Bars typically last between 45 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the arrangement you’ve selected and the number of guests participating. For specific duration details, please refer to the Flower Bar tab on our website.

Will I get to take home what I make during the workshop?

Absolutely! You’ll take home your beautiful arrangement at the end of the Flower Bar. For "The Luxe” arrangements, we provide travel boxes to ensure safe transport. “The Petite” glass vase conveniently fits in a standard vehicle cupholder, and “The Petite Centerpiece” vases will either fit in a cupholder or a provided transport box.

Can I bring my own flowers or materials if I have something specific in mind?

Unfortunately, no. We provide all the necessary flowers and materials to ensure a cohesive experience. Rest assured, everything will be thoughtfully curated for your Flower Bar!

Is there an age requirement for participants?

Yes, the youngest eligible participant for our standard Flower Bars is 13 years old, and minors must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian. Exceptions can be made for special Mommy & Me events!

For Birthday Flower Bars, the celebrant must be between 7 and 13 years old. For participants aged 7-8, we kindly ask that the hostess assist as an extra pair of hands and eyes for safety.

Are there any safety precautions I should be aware of when working with flowers?

We hope your flower arranging experience is safe and rewarding, but accidents can happen. Prior to the class, please inform us of any allergies your participant group may have. We do have gloves we can offer to help prevent any irritation from flowers. Please also be aware of the inherent risks associated with the use of sharp tools, breakable supplies, and ingredients. Please also be aware that water can spill, and inform us as soon as you notice any spills to reduce the risk of slips and falls. Finally, please keep your finished product and its ingredients away from pets and children to avoid consumption, as many of the ingredients are potentially poisonous.

Will I receive any written materials or resources to take home with me?

Our classes do not include written material, but you are more than welcome to take notes! An ingredients list and care instructions will be provided or texted to you on the day of the Flower Bar.

How do I take care of my flowers?

Keep your flowers out of sunlight, heat, and away from draughts.

Don’t forget to change the water daily and to re-trim the blossoms every few days and change the water every day to maintain fresh and clean stems.

Keep leaves and debris out of the water.

Remove fading stems and down-size your arrangement to a smaller vase when needed.

As you do all this, keep in mind that some flowers generally last longer than others at room temperature. Most flowers last between 4-7 days.

Can I take photos and videos during the Flower Bar?

This will be determined by your hostess, and we’ll also confirm at the beginning of the Flower Bar if anyone has any objections to photography. As long as everyone is agreeable, feel free to snap away! Don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram!
